Our Founder John Unsicker is a Denturist here in the greater Tacoma-Seattle Area, and he began to notice a common problem he patients would run into: Their dental insurance not covering as much as they needed it to. He frequently works with retired patients, often on fixed incomes so having an unexpected dental bill wasn’t a problem easily fixed. He also noticed other age groups struggling with the same problem; not enough coverage & a tight budget. Lower-income individuals & families struggle when hit with a large medical bill, but with unexpected dental bills usually means those individuals will go months if not years before receiving the oral care they need.
Our oral health is directly tied to our overall health, when we have a happy & healthy smile we are happier & healthier people.
However, money concerns often lead patients to put off taking care of their health, which in turn has their overall health suffering & their smile hiding. Our mission at Rising Tide Smiles is to lift everyone in Tacoma, WA as we help individuals care for their smiles through grants given to patients whose insurance won’t cover the cost.
